eSui Dollar Now Live on Sui as DeepBook Becomes DeFi’s Premier Destination for Passive & Active Rewards

Main Takeaways

  • eSui Dollar is the first synthetic dollar integrated with DeepBook Margin, expanding composable financial capabilities on Sui.
  • With DeepBook Margin, eSui Dollar becomes immediately usable across margin trading, lending, and other leveraged DeFi workflows.
  • This integration shows how DeepBook allows teams to add new DeFi functionality without rebuilding margin and liquidation infrastructure from scratch.

Overview

eSui Dollar (suiUSDe), the synthetic dollar issued in collaboration with Ethena Labs that was unveiled in Q4 2025, is now live on Sui Mainnet, marking a significant expansion of assets available across Sui’s onchain financial infrastructure.

eSui Dollar will also be available day one on a variety of Sui protocols, providing institutions and retail traders with new and rich experiences. In particular, eSui Dollar builds on the recent launch of DeepBook Margin and will unlock new passive and active trading strategies by being the first synthetic dollar available for DeepBook.

eSui Dollar will be one of several assets available for DeepBook Margin trading, lending, and margin systems, and is the first synthetic dollar added for DeepBook Margin support.

eSui Dollar Expands DeepBook Margin and Onchain Trading

The rollout is supported by ecosystem participants, including SUI Group Holdings (NASDAQ: SUIG), which focuses on advancing institutional adoption and infrastructure development across the Sui ecosystem. Now, a variety of ecosystem projects, including Abyss, Cetus, and Deeptrade, will support DeepBook Margin trading, and others can integrate DeepBook Margin trading support, expanding options to participants, helping to grow Sui DeFi. In addition, ecosystem projects, including Aftermath, AlphaLend, Bluefin, Ember, Navi, Pyth, Scallop, and Suilend, will also support eSui Dollar.

“SUI Group has been deeply engaged with Sui, drawn to the systems-level thinking behind the network and the institutional-grade onchain market infrastructure that can drive value to our shareholders,” said Marius Barnett, Chairman of SUI Group Holdings. “The launch of eSui Dollar alongside DeepBook Margin gives us a concrete foundation to support expanded capabilities like capital-efficient trading and liquidity provisioning built directly on Sui. This is the type of programmable market infrastructure we look to engage with and help bring to market as onchain systems mature.”

DeepBook Margin expands DeepBook beyond its traditional role as a core liquidity layer into a full-fledged platform, giving builders easy tools to embed DeFi functionality, such as margin, rewards, and liquidation logic, directly into their projects. This is a new Sui DeFi use case for synthetic dollars of this nature and is a pivotal moment for expanding broader DeFi access on Sui, available to institutions and retail participants alike.

“DeepBook Margin represents a new model for onchain financial infrastructure, and today’s launch of eSui Dollar makes it a category-definer,” said Adeniyi Abiodun, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Mysten Labs, the original contributor to Sui. “By integrating the eSui Dollar natively with DeepBook and broader Sui infrastructure, we’re expanding more ways to participate in and build within the Sui ecosystem. It’s a powerful example of how composable primitives on Sui can work together to deliver new value for users and builders alike.”

A New Primitive for Programmable Finance on Sui

With features like isolated margin pools, real-time liquidation engines, and flexible fee mechanics, DeepBook Margin expands DeepBook from a trading venue into a fully programmable builder platform. The integration of assets like eSui Dollar enables traders to engage in margin trading with differentiated exposure, while giving developers a foundation for building next-generation financial applications.

"Sui's architecture lets us integrate dollar assets directly into margin systems. That capability, plus their strong ecosystem and pool of MoveVM developers, made Sui a natural choice as one of our first non-EVM chain partners. The eSui Dollar is the blueprint for making digital dollars core infrastructure on high-performance chains."

The launch of DeepBook Margin strengthens the broader DeepBook offering by combining onchain margin with programmable synthetic dollars like eSui Dollar.
