Introducing DeepBook Predict
Predict. Compose. Trade anything.
TLDR: Predict enables developers to build binary markets, options (calls, puts, spreads), leveraged products, and structured instruments that compose with DeepBook’s Spot and Margin primitives. Powered by an options oracle built in partnership with Block Scholes, Predict brings institutional-grade options pricing to a fully on chain environment with sub second settlement.
Today we are announcing a major update to DeepBook: DeepBook Predict is live on testnet.
Predict is the third composable financial primitive in the DeepBook stack, alongside Spot and Margin, and a composable options primitive built natively into an on-chain order book.
'Composable' means builders are not limited to what any single primitive does on its own. With three primitives combined, the design space expands significantly.
What Predict Unlocks
Until now, DeepBook has offered two composable financial primitives. Spot is Sui's native CLOB, with $20M in TVL and $15M+ in daily volume, powering 20+ apps across the ecosystem.
Margin, which launched in Q1 2026, sits directly on top of the order book and provides leverage along with borrow/lend infrastructure; it processed $20M in cumulative volume and reached $2M in TVL in its first four weeks.
With three primitives, the design space for what builders can ship on Sui expands significantly.
| What you can build | Primitives required |
|---|---|
| Polymarket style binary markets | Predict |
| Options (calls, puts, spreads) | Predict (composes natively for spreads) |
| Tap to bet UP / DOWN apps | Predict + Margin |
| 3x leveraged BTC ETF | Predict + Margin |
| Multi asset portfolio expression | Spot + Margin + Predict |
| Structured products | Spot + Margin + Predict |
This is what three primitives unlock. Binary markets, options, leveraged ETFs, structured products. All composable. All on-chain. All backed by shared liquidity.
The Market Opportunity
"Prediction markets are still very inefficient. Nobody has perfected the model. We have an opportunity here, a unique opportunity." — Aslan Tashtanov, DeepBook Lead
The demand for prediction markets, perps, and on-chain derivatives is growing quickly:
- Polymarket processed $7B in February 2026 alone with 70k DAU.
- Hyperliquid generated $844M in revenue in 2025, growing its user base from 300k to 1.4M.
- Perpetual DEX volume reached $7.35 trillion in 2025, a 176% YoY increase.
- The DEX to CEX perpetual trading ratio climbed from 2.1% in January 2023 to 11.7% in November 2025, with 14 consecutive months of growth.
By contrast, on chain options are flat. The entire category sits at $100M in TVL. That is not a competitive market, it is an underdeveloped one. Until now, the infrastructure to do options well, with institutional grade pricing, deep liquidity, and native composability, has not existed in DeFi. DeepBook Predict changes that.
What Makes Predict Unique
Composability. A Polymarket position is a dead end token. You can hold it, sell it, and that's about it. You can't leverage it, post it as collateral, or compose it into anything else. A Predict position is different.
It composes with Margin, so a builder can offer leverage on a binary position in the same transaction it is opened. It composes with Spot, so settlement happens against deep shared liquidity. And it composes with other Predict positions, so spreads and structured products become a question of UX, not infrastructure.
This is the difference between an application and an infrastructure primitive, and it is why three primitives unlock more than just three new use cases.
Performance. Sui settles trades in under 400 milliseconds, fast enough that an app built on Predict can feel like a game. The whole interaction — tap, bet, settle — can happen before a user has time to reconsider. Apps can be that simple, or go deeper and build the full trading terminal too.
Liquidity from day one. The cold start has always been the unsolved problem in prediction markets. New markets need counterparties, and bootstrapping market makers from zero is expensive and slow. DeepBook is solving this with an internal market maker, so new markets on Predict launch with quotes from minute one. Builders can ship without sourcing market makers. This is the "powered by DeepBook" thesis. Every Sui builder gets access to options infrastructure they would otherwise need significant time and capital.
What's Live, and What's Next
- Testnet is live. Block Scholes is providing the options oracle.
- Internal market maker for instant liquidity is coming soon.
- V1 ships binary options. Composable calls, puts, and spreads are next.
- Mainnet later this year. The first-party app will launch alongside the primitive, letting traders interact with Predict directly for the first time.
If you're building on Sui, this is the earliest you can touch composable options. Testnet is live. Start building financial products that weren't possible before.
If you're a trader, the apps you'll begin to see on DeepBook are the leading edge of what three composable primitives make possible.
Three primitives. Expanding possibilities.
