SuiNS RFP Kicks Off to Support Ecosystem Growth
The SuiNS RFP program is now live, offering builders the opportunity to secure funding while contributing to the evolution of Sui’s naming service.

The Sui Foundation is launching a Request for Proposals (RFP) program for SuiNS, funding new projects that advance the protocol and enhance its value to the Sui community. This RFP process will drive impactful development and strengthen community collaboration by directly funding projects that align with the needs of Sui’s ecosystem and the growth of SuiNS.
SuiNS provides users with a simple, human-readable identity that can be used across the Sui ecosystem, replacing complex wallet addresses with familiar names such as @user and user.sui. Beyond simplifying transactions, SuiNS is enabling more personalized, feature-rich interactions, enhancing both user experiences and app functionality. The SuiNS RFP program focuses builders on specific, community-driven feature requests, ensuring development aligns with real user needs. For the first time, the open RFP topics have been directly approved by the SuiNS DAO participants through a vote, marking a significant step in the protocol’s decentralization.
The RFP program plays a pivotal role in accelerating innovation within the Sui ecosystem. Each RFP outlines a specific area of focus, encouraging developers to propose solutions that address key challenges and build them with grant funding. This approach enables targeted development to fill gaps within the ecosystem.
The path to project funding
To ensure transparency and a smooth process, the SuiNS RFP program follows a structured process:
- Application submission: Builders and teams can submit their proposals. Each RFP has a defined application window, and we encourage participants to submit proposals that directly align with the goals outlined in the RFP. The deadline for applications is March 17th, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST.
- Review period: After submission, each proposal will be reviewed and assessed based on its alignment with RFP requirements and overall feasibility. A dedicated RFP committee will shortlist candidates and vote on the final proposals to be awarded funding.
- Identity verification: To maintain transparency and accountability, selected builders and teams must undergo an identity verification process.
- Grant agreement: Once selected, a grant agreement outlining the project’s milestones, deliverables, and timeline must be signed. With the agreement in place, teams can begin development.
