Trace Makes ATP Tour Digital Collectibles Available on Sui

Web3 sports marketing platform Trace is turning to Sui to mint and distribute Traces, digital collectibles commemorating epic moments from tournaments, races, and games around the world. The platform's vision for how each Trace evolves lines up perfectly with Sui's dynamic NFT technology.

As an initial collaboration with a global sports organization, Trace worked with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Momentum, a limited-edition collection of official memorabilia based on the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, happening from November 10 to 17.

Fans can pick up Traces for free, but the company makes each one available for a specific amount of time associated with an event. For the Momentum collaboration, each Trace represents a singles match at the ATP Finals. A Trace features a visual that represents an event, driven by data and crafted by hand. Each Trace is a time-limited edition collectible fully owned by a fan.

Key Sui technologies underlying this feature include dynamic NFTs and Kiosk, a Sui primitive allowing set rules for NFTs. Unlike static NFTs on other chains, Sui's NFTs can change and evolve based on input and events, creating a visually rich experience. Kiosk serves to create rules for NFTs on Sui, such as enforceable royalties or trading parameters.

Trace also makes use of zkLogin, ensuring that any sports fan can pick up a Trace collectible without needing to create a Sui wallet. Instead, fans can log in using existing credentials from services such as Google and Facebook.

Through Sui, Trace creates a truly unique fan memorabilia experience geared towards the digital age.

ATP Tour fans can claim unique Traces during the Nitto ATP Finals from November 10 to 17.
